SALIVATIONS
13/05/2025
On Monday, May 12, 2025 we presented our latest project, “Salivations”, developed together with Orkan Telhan for the exhibition “We the Bacteria. Notes Towards a Biotic Architecture”, curated by Beatriz Colomina and Mark Wigley. “Salivations” studies the migration process of humans and their canine companions from a microbial approach: We, the microorganisms traveling in the mouths of humans and their canine companions, carry stories older than our hosts themselves. Our journeys, traced through saliva, span continents and generations… Saliva is among our oldest meeting places—a site of exchange, a fluidic architecture where we all blur into each other. At a given time, there are typically twenty billion bacteria in my dog’s mouth. They are from me, my lover, your neighborhood, Milan, and countless other beings who we have crossed paths with. Some of us are stories of displacement. We come from diverse places, ecologies, climates and dwell into new relationships, new homes. Our recent dogs carry traces of microorganisms from our past dogs. As we travel in the mouths of our fellow companions, they also carry us along with traces of dust, food, and distant geographies, as we pass on from species to species. Salivations explores our intertwined microbial histories of […]

ARQ en CORTO
07/05/2025
Eva Gil participates in Arquitectura en Corto. Arquitectura en Corto invites you to the screening of “Fin de temporada”, next Wednesday May 7 at 7 pm at Espacio Arquia (c/ Tutor, 16, Madrid). A video essay that travels through the ruins of 41 abandoned water parks in Spain and Portugal to reflect on the effects of the current economic model on water resources and leisure. The video is part of a research project (@findetemporada_ ) by Leonor Martín Taibo and Aida Navarro Redón, which also includes a book with the same title. Its origin is due to two almost simultaneous findings: an unexpectedly long list of abandoned water parks in the peninsula. And a series of news with studies by the United Nations and the World Resources Institute, which warned, already in 2019, of the adverse future that awaited Spain with a water stress five times the European average, a risk of extreme aquifer poverty and a million hectares in severe danger of desertification. At the end of the screening, we will discuss the current water situation in Spain and the solutions that architecture can provide. Four architects will participate: Mari Feli Fernández García, urban planner and hydrogeologist specialized in […]
