RIZOMA AGUA

On June 5, 2025, we will give a lecture entitled “Humid Ecological Contracts” as part of the “Rhizome of Water” seminar organized by TANAT. What role does water play in our construction of spaces and fictions? Through lectures, creative exercises and discussion, the workshop proposes an investigation on the relationship between water and the domestic and urban environment. It takes as references visionary architectures of the twentieth century, machines and inventions of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and ancient water technologies. It seeks to imagine new relationships between architecture, city, body, machine and water, seeking to expand the limits of concrete spaces. The imaginaries open and create conversations around our time. We will not talk about big acts, or massive solutions, but about discursive imaginaries. Bauhaus of the Seas Sails

Looking back at the Bauhaus of the Seas Sails two-day internationa seminar at the @nieuweinstituut in Rotterdam. Organised on 23 and 24 June by elii together with @tba_21, the gathering united project partners, fellow artists and Ocean Ambassadors in a shared exploration of storytelling, design, and coastal futures. Highlights of the two days included Experimental storytelling process workshop by @amolinacuadro, a “Living with Water” workshop in Het Park with @riannemakkink of the @studiomakkinkbey and a multispecies Zoöp Garden Tour guided by Klaas Kuitenbrouwer, curator at the Nieuwe Instituut. The Library is Open returns Wednesday, June 4 for a special summer edition to discuss, “100 WORDS FOR WATER: A PROJECTIVE ECOSOCIAL VOCABULARY” together with editors, Eva Franch i Gilabert @eva_franch , Mireia Luzárraga, and Alejandro Muiño @we_are_takk. They will be joined by contributors Lola Ben-Alon, Neeraj Bhatia, Nerea Calvillo, Uriel Fogue, Nahyun Hwang, Lydia Kallipoliti, Dominic Leong, Sandro Marpillero, David Eugin Moon, Sonal Sahni Beri, José Luis De Vicente, and others. Wednesday, June 4, 6PM, Avery 400. The volume can be situated in editors’ Catalonian pavilion at the 2025 Venice Biennale of Architecture titled, “Water Parliaments: Projective Ecosocial Architectures.” Both present urgent responses to the United Nations’ assertion that “the climate crisis is mainly a water crisis.” The publication, through a vital lexicon and the Pavilion, through immersive narrative, study codependent relationships between humans and non-humans and the water systems on which they are sustained in order to propose hopeful future scenarios.
