Today begins the Pre-Fab-Kenstein workshop that we will lead within the Master in Industrialisation, Prototyping and Architectural Design (MIPPA).

This workshop aims to understand the opportunities and challenges of circular construction under the particular perspective of the reuse of architectural components. Can we design our buildings as hardwares of elements that can have many lives? How would circularity affect our ways of designing? What should the industrial ecosystem look like to make the reuse of components feasible? How would circular construction influence carbon emissions? These are the questions that will guide the workshop where we will imagine construction as the process of assembling an architectural ‘frankenstein’ made of interchangeable parts.

Hoy comienza el taller Pre-Fab-Kenstein que dirigiremos dentro del Máster en Industrialización, Prototipado y Proyecto Arquitectónico (MIPPA).

Este taller persigue entender las potencias y los desafíos de la construcción circular bajo la perspectiva concreta de la reutilización de componentes arquitectónicos. ¿Podemos diseñar nuestros edificios como hardwares de elementos que pueden tener muchas vidas? ¿Cómo afectaría la circularidad a nuestras maneras de diseñar? ¿Cómo debería ser el ecosistema industrial para hacer factible la reutilización de componentes? ¿Cómo influiría la construcción circular a las emisiones de carbono? Estas son las preguntas que orientarán el taller donde imaginaremos la construcción como el proceso de ensamblar un “frankenstein” arquitectónico conformado de partes intercambiables.
