053 · VAL DEL OMAR OVERFLOW

The Ascension of the Glands to the Antimatter

ABSTRACT

Exhibition at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid

The exhibition opened on the 5th of October 2010, on the third floor of the Sabatini building of the Museum. The “VAL DEL OMAR overflow” exhibition is an exhaustive view of José Val del Omar’s work, from its beginnings, created during his Teaching Missions, up to the latest version of the “Truca”, a complex device designed to film and edit images.

The exhibition is centered on a round visit of the five themes of the artist’s work, in which the visitor will be able to observe the artist’s first incursions into photography and documentary film, the patents of some of the practical day to day inventions, collage works or the research laboratory, in which several of his experiments with audiovisual aids to generate a “complete show”.

The visitor will be amazing, as Val de Omar himself was, by the communicative, teaching and even mystical capacity of Images.
