Happy 2022!!!! Drawing: elii - Microbial Fruits of Istanbul, 2021. Many of the phenomena that occur on a city-wide scale, such as gentrification, loss of biodiversity, climate change, and the problems affecting future generations take place in parallel in their own intestines on a micro-biotic scale. Bodies = Architectures for Microorganisms = Ecosystemic Battlefields. MFoI was part of the 'New Civil Rituals' program of the 5th Istanbul Design Biennial. A project developed by @otelhan + elii [architecture office] for the Mutant Institute of Environmental Narratives (IMNA) / @mataderomadrid , in partnership with Istanbul University Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Kokopelli Sehirde and Nadas collectives.
